Have we given up?
I would still love to get this variant on lichess.
Bughouse is currently the only reason I still use the 'cursed website'
I really hope this gets integrated at some stage, somehow! :)
Just returned to chess a couple of weeks ago but Bughouse (or „Tandem“ in German“ brings back the fondest memories of lunch breaks in the office when I was young ... - not sure whether someone would stand or survive with me as a partner these days!
Could it be that many players fear to be coupled with a weaker player by random and then loose the game and fating points?
As a weak player myself and with 30 years having passed by since my latest Bughouse, I would also shy away from pushing the button and drowning someone much better in the ensuing game ...
I would rather appreciate to team up with some partners in principle and then play against other pre-determined couples, as this would allow me to have a clear understand with my partner as to what we are signing up to. However, this requires some sort of coordination on a player-to-player level, while all the games, team matches and tournaments are based on a principle of „enter the site at the right time and simply jump in“.
Hence it may well be that the coding of coupling two Crazyhouse games may be the smaller problem than setting up a system to organise the couples and games in an enticing manner as such?!
