3 billion games of chess have been played on lichess

It's really impressive to reach those numbers of games played ! Also I'm wondering if there's 100 Billions or 1 trillions games or more could the servers handle it well ? And what could be the maximum ... 1000 trillions or more ...

By example if I'm right, if all people on earth play 100 000 games here it would be 807.6 trillions games .

German11 has played 0.00793% of all the games in lichess which is not even close to 1/1000. It a actually is roughly 1/12609

I just realised that 0.5% of my last 1000 games were played against GM @yasser-seirawan

In the database are only rated games. When you here: lichess.org/games/search and look at the name of your browser-tab (not sure if it is shown on phone), you see how many games on Lichess were played.

Edit: with dabase I meant actually this one: database.lichess.org . Wow, almost 5 billion rated games, newer months consist 30 GB if chess
