Mentally taxing, tedious, exhausting...

Yes !, I'm talking about ringing my local Doctors surgery about my prescription.

After speaking with someone face to face around two months ago to sort out my prescriptions so that they go straight through to the chemist as is normal these days,
I ring up today to make sure my prescription is ready to collect, only for the jumped up telephonist to TELL me that, "that prescription was cancelled over one year ago SIRRR !!, it says so on my computer ! "
I then go through a tedious exchange of conversation for her to acknowledge that there's been a mistake somewhere their end, she then goes on to say "Well I'll put that through to the Dr and he'll have to sign it off, that can take up to two days", I replied "Well I only have one tablet left so that's not going to work is it?", She then proceeds to say Well it's up to two days SIRRR !! , I then replied " Your not listening to me, I only have one tablet left !", she replies "That's OK SIRR, bye", but before she put the phone down in an attempt to get rid of me I said "NO its not OK !, this problem has been caused by this practice not me, your computer not having the correct information about a patients medication is a massive Red flag, and I may take this matter further,
Her smug sarcastic tone changed to one of normal Human interaction after that, and she politely explained that ill likely get my prescription sorted today and be available tomorrow.

All of this nonscence above, over a prescription that I discussed 'in person' with them two months ago !.

It's typical that Dr's, Mps, Companys, surround themselves with these difficult people on purpose to make it hard for you get accountability from them about their incompetence and ineptitude, instead putting the burden and blame on the patient (in my case), the customer or citizen in others. :).

Rant over, I feel much better now I've vented. :).

I bet I'm not alone in dealing with these types, anyone else care to share a story?.
Perhaps it is possible for you to do it over the Internet? Without any annoying phone calls?
Bravo Sir! Only in the United Kingdom can you phone a G.P. surgery to be cross-examined by a medically unqualified receptionist, then wait hours for a doctor to diagnose your ailment by way of a phone call! Quicker to visit A&E and wait in triage surrounded by the sick and injured on trolleys stretching from here to the moon. A disgraceful state of affairs, and a slur on our NHS!

True, but then I'm in a kind of limbo, waiting for a response anyway, this is not the only negative dealings I've had with these people either, although if I wrote everything on here, folk would think I'm crazy lol. :).

My thoughts exactly, it's a shame because whenever I've needed hospital treatment I have always had it available fortunately.
I'm not against them of course in any way at all, But I fear we're all being led down a dark path towards something like the American system. :).
I know a lot of doctors, and they typically don’t like bad staff, either (they want people to make appointments—it’s how they get paid).
Admin is the usual culprit in these hirings.
I just received a text from my local pharmacy telling me that my prescription is ready to collect right now!

So one kicks up a fuss, and things happen,
that could have happened anyway without the fuss
Why oh why must things be this way ?. :).
