Are you an artist?

It's literally the same as painting. Except your strokes are done using a tablet not paint on a canvas lol.

If you think it takes no artistic talent, or does not require the exact same approach, skill set, and vision as a painting or hand drawing- please I challenge you to do a digital painting and show it to us here, for laughs(;
There are degrees to the artistic process and to say that digital art requires the " exact ", same approach, skill set and vision as a painting, is a stretch.

And just because I or @probably4000 might not do it as well as @salmon_rushdie doesn't prove the point.

Some digital artists create multiple pieces in the same day, which isn't possible with traditional painting.

Also the art market doesn't value digital art the same as a painted work because it is so obvious that it's harder to paint.

Almost nobody except digital artists seems to care about digital art and I don't know anyone that can name even one famous digital artist.

Doesn't really sound like you know anything about it or appreciate the form, if you can't even name a single digital artist lol - they're huge names in art.

Maybe you should update your info, digital art pieces have sold for around 70 million $

Also you should be well aware if you know the art scene, that quality and effort do not even dictate prices.... ever seen Jeff Koons dumb balloon animals that sell for 90 mil+$?

And no it's not 'harder to paint' than make digital art lol, I've done both for decades and started as a painter. I can go every bit in depth with a digital painting as a hand one, how much detail and time you decide to put in is up to you. If anything, digital art required me to accumulate a great deal more extraneous knowledge.

lol sounds like one of those 'electronic music isn't real music' people

How's this for a challenge:

No google - name a single living painter who is more popular than the digital artist Beeple, since "only digital artists care about digital art" lmao

Good luck!
Never heard of Beeple, but I Google ts and find out he is actually an amazing digital artist. Who knew? @twighead

Can't name a painter more famous. And apparently I have something against electronic music. Opinions noted.
Someone paid 70 million for a digital image? hahahahaha, really> that's hysterical and further evidence that we live in full on Clown World. So they don't actually get a hard copy for 70 million? That seems quite excessive. But what do I know? I'm more of a Diego Velazquez fan. @salmon_rushdie

The world of ultra high priced art (typically horribly boring modern art) is more of a commodity trading/money laundering industry.

these have been going for 30-70 million$ each
