I'm terrible at endgames

Perhaps you could learn how to win decisively in the opening or middle game to avoid end games! (:
No, that wont work. But you could learn how to win decisively in the end game to avoid standing worse in the middlegame and opening ;-)

That ... does work. U1500 player do it all the time.
They never or almost never reach an endgame.
Ever higher rated chess players come up with :
"Endgame studying ? I never had any reason to study that, because my games always end before the 40 moves time control is there".
I seem to remember that this is even mentioned in the introduction chapter of How to reassess your chess by IM Silman.
Thats simply wrong, but i dont want to force anyone. Dont do endgames, if you like :-)
Well, it makes more sense to focus more on openings and middle games.
In the shown game it's not really the endgame that's your problem, but the mating technique. You were so close to mating but you decided you needed another queen??
But before that you did well converting material advantage and promoting a pawn. So learn mating patterns and techniques first.
Has to be said, endgames are very easy to blunder even for very high rated players in deceptively simple positions.

For example in this simul I just played, the position was drawn on move 54 with 2 pawns a piece and between me and the FM we made a total of 3 blunders between us before he resigned on move 59.

do tactics puzzles and i think you'll be familiar with basic mating techniques, also if you ever feel unsure about you accidentally stalemating if you hadnt calculated it,just throw in a few checks to drive the king off a closed position into an open one so you can convert it into a mate easily
