"The constitution says all men are created equal." That's right, but some people are better at executing plans. This is not because God gave more talent to some people and less to some. This is because of the difference in the way people use their talent. Also, Lichess would be meaningless if everyone had the same rating. Then would have no idea about the actual strength of a player.
