Yeah, I have the same problem. I'm using Firefox 47 on up to date Ubuntu 16.04. The issue doesn't seem to be caused by any addon because I checked Firefox in Safe Mode and this still happens.

Please fix this! Very annoying.
It might be some graphics setting in Firefox itself that changed with the update. That's my guess

Yesterday I did some searching, and it seemed that similar graphical glitches were there a few years ago at a certain Firefox release.
Recommended was to switch "hardware acceleration" off in the settings. I had that already off though.
I hope this slightly annoying bug will be fixed in Firefox 48 !

Glitch usually appears after moving a piece or pawn. Then grab (click and hold) the moved piece and use it as a eraser over the glitch :)
