Sound changed?

I see there is a volume control, yet the move sounds are faint even at the loudest volume.

Surely we can increase the range of the volume control? I'd like the maximum volume to be around +10dB to +20dB louder than it currently is (and I'd prefer to not have to write a browser plugin to do this). We wouldn't have to change the minimum or default volumes, just the maximum volume...
@Clarkey
that's pretty good news, man, thanks a lot! The old sound was so beautiful that it contributed for sure 20 - 30 % to my playing pleasure over here, no other chess site had such a beautiful sound track
The new sound are very good!!! Good work!!!
I like that they are more similiar to playchess.com... the place that have better sound moves...
I wonder if you can use the sound of playchess.com here (that was the perfection for me)
It's just soooooo quiet!

For anyone with hearing problems, it is almost impossible to use.
ScarletPimpernel you are right...
The sound is low, but it is a good sound.

My "wish sound"should be listen while I listen music... because most of the times I listen music... In sites like chess.com and in playchess.com (with fritz GUI) I dont have any problem with the sound volume... Just here.
I think the sound moves volume should be a little high
For most of my time here, I didn't even know there was ANY sound!

Then I saw a kingscrusher vid on lichess w/sound and I found the sound.

I'm so happy about the sound. It's not too quiet for me, but that doesn't matter....so many people complaining about it means surely it will be increased.

I'm just glad there's sound. Yay.
The sound is cool.
The only sound that I have heard on this that I don't like so much is when NM amazing oid plays and he has this automatic commentator with a Russian accent or whatnot and it becomes especially annoying when the game is fast paced.
That would be the amusing dmitlichess Chrome extension, which plays sound clips of GM Dmitri Komarov commentating from the Dubai World Rapid & Blitz Championship 2014. I believe it's also being reworked to support regular move commentary, which would make for a nice feature and aid accessibility, in my opinion.
I previously played on mute because the sounds were too loud for music, but seeing this thread made me try the new sounds. I like them.
