Playing with 4 minutes against an opponent with 8 minutes is far easier than playing with half a minute against an opponent with a whole minute, simply because this half minute itself is so short, while the 4 minutes is still a sizable amount of time. For this reason, I believe berserking should be removed from all tournaments with time controls longer than a certain length (say, all rapid tournaments), or that the time penalty for longer tournaments be made even more severe (say, being forced to play with 3 minutes as opposed to 5 for berserking in a 10+0 tournament, or maybe being forced to play with 1 minute instead of 1.5 in a 3+0 tournament.)
